David Attenborough has been a staple on our televisions for years. His love of animals and wildlife and his desire to help us see that we need to protect our planet have seen more people watching his programs over the years.
David was born in London in 1926, and from a very young age, he was interested in natural history. He was educated in Cambridge, and undertook a training program with the BBC and later went on to become a television producer for the channel. By 1965 he became the controller of BBC2 and was incredibly influential in the educational programs that were created and shown at the time.
By 1972 he decided that he wanted to produce and create his own series on natural history and anthropology, and the Life series was developed. Over the years, the technology that has been used to film these documentaries has evolved. From static cameras with high powered lenses through to drones and specially designed pieces of equipment. Drones have revolutionised the way we can see our planet. If you want to be able to get a bird’s eye view, then Drone Filming Companies like Skypower are definitely the way to go.
Following on from the success of the Life Series, David took on the narration of Blue Planet and then later on also narrated the eight part Our Planet series.
